The Rookies Family Reunion
Hey, fam! Your friendly neighbourhood jazz band the Rookies are stepping out of their usual digs at the Rooks Return to put on a big party with our old mates at the Ev! Last time we played there was our album launch in 2019 and ooh-wee, did we get weird.
If you remember the rambunctious unadulterated joy that was that night, you know why we’re going back to one of our favourite spots on Brunswick St for more.
To help celebrate the return of this palace of the Fitzroy music scene (they recently renovated and it looks beaut!) we’re playing two late sets on Saturday May 15 with a bunch of special guests from the extended Rookies family.
If you’ve come by the Rooks Return recently to catch us on a Wednesday and been put off by the line out the front, this is your chance to come sweat it out with all your friends!
Oh yeah, and we’re launching a single--the first track from our forthcoming LP, ‘The Rookies Play Jazz 2’! Would love to have you with us for a special night of silliness. Come for the jazz. Stay for the weird.
