It’s been a big year for Sydney based indie-RnB artist Taj Ralph. Releasing his debut EP ‘Walls2 Break’ in August, Taj has been riding a creative wave and has followed up the release with a fresh new track titled ‘Just Fine’. It’s a song with a sentiment most will relate to. “Take a second to appreciate you’re getting it right” Taj sings. Wise words from the 21 year old who, like all artists has had time to look at what’s important in life.
“I know you wanna say f**k that, and everything will be just fine”, Taj declares in the song. “’Just Fine’ is a feel-good song I wrote for myself to tell me to appreciate what I’ve got, trust the process, and keep moving forward,” said Taj, “It’s easy to forget to live in the moment when you’re focused on the future. I thought that’s something people could relate to.” Inspired by 90s hip-hop producer, J Dilla, ‘Just Fine’ quickly evolved into a unique display of Taj’s artistic influences. Working with producer and Sydney artist Dave Jenkins Jr, ‘JustFine’ intertwines his smooth and youthful vocals, chilled beats, and a good dose of pop to get you moving. “Dave Jenkins really helped take the song from a demo to a full-bodied track. He killed it, and so did Lola (his daughter) on the hook!” said Taj.
Taj’s debut EP ‘Walls 2 Break’ features the single ‘Something From Nothing’ which garnered great support from triple j, triple j Unearthed and community radio around Australia. Working with producer Tentendo, Taj collaborated with the likes of Alice Ivy, Jim ALXNDR, Golden Vessel, BOY SODA and Thiefin creating ‘Wall 2 Break’. ‘Just Fine’ is the first taste of a larger body of work to come fromTaj Ralphin 2022. With each new release we’re seeing an inspired performer establish himself with a sound and style in a lane of his own.
