m8riarchy launches her debut EP ‘Never Drop’ with special guests Tanzer, Limerence, Tinika and sānsān 珊珊
‘Never Drop’ is the logical final step in m8riarchy’s energetic and emotional journey, culminating in the release of her first EP. An ode to the community, shared space and heaving dancefloors that allowed her the freedom to express herself, 'Never Drop' perfectly toes the line between personal growth and party banger.
m8riarchy’s live set is a journey through the sounds and spaces that shaped the artist she is today - from childhood influences of R&B/pop to a lineage of electronic music that manifests community and liberation on the dancefloor.
Tanzer
Tanzer is in the business of escapism - and escape you shall. A singer, composer, disco DJ and art maker, Tanzer is known for her cinematic, high-glamour, escapist works that are at once intensely powerful, deeply fragile and darkly humorous. Her musical compositions move fluidly from opera to disco and from the experimental to pure pop - exploring self-image, gender, romance and the power of the alter ego.
Limerence
LIMERENCE is an ethereal energy, brewing a relationship with Blu Jay, an artist, living and working on Wurundjeri land, Melbourne. Working primarily with somatic movement and theatrics, Limerence's drag hopes to question notions of life, death and beyond, through themes of fantasy, forming a visual language of sensuality and vulnerability
Tinika
IT automation engineer by day, and Naarm based DJ by night, Tinika grew up heavily influenced by the sounds she selects today, with her output being a feel good fusion ranging from experimental hip hop and r’n’b to disco, house and everything in between. Drawing on her queer black identity, you’ll be hard pressed to find a genre untouched by Tinika who seems to always give the crowd what they didn’t know they needed.
sānsān 珊珊
sānsān 珊珊 (pronounced sarn·sarn) is an Australian born, Chinese - East Timorese emerging artist and DJ, based on Bidwell/Maap land (Mallacoota).
m8riarchy acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people on whose land this event will take place. If you are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and would like to attend the event, please contact us and we will arrange free entry.
