Come celebrate the launch of Heliotrope's self-titled sophomore EP, Heliotrope featuring special guests Amadou & friends Plus DJ's and more Saturday 23rd July 2021.
The Melbourne-based 6 piece groove band formed by bassist/composer Liam Powell, is excited to showcase their EP "Heliotrope" which has grown and evolved over the years of the band's formation.
That band is packed with incredibly talented musicians drawing Inspirations from the likes of Herbie Hancock, The Cinematic Orchestra, Jamiriqui, and Kamasi Washington to name a few, over the years they have merged their skills and passion to create celestial times peace.
Joyning them on the night is the infamous Amadou Suso & Friends
Amadou "kora is in my gene from both my parent's sides, who are born and raised as griots. We the Griots/Jali are traditional historians, genealogists, and storytellers who pass their skills on to their descendants. The instrument is played in Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and The Gambia."
