Two of Naarm’s heaviest psychedelic jazz ensembles join forces at The Evelyn Friday April 11th for a double header with DJ Ponie Curtis (PBS) spinning floorfillers late into the evening.
FAIRTRADE NARCOTICS: Fairtrade Narcotics is a Naarm based psychedelic jazz-pop band led by Brooke Kymberley (vocals, guitar, flugelhorn) featuring dynamic horns, dual guitars and energetic rhythms. Fairtrade Narcotics is the collective musical friendship of Brooke Kymberley, George Inglis, Luca Soprano, Dermot O'Brien & Wilsen Conn.
INTERMOOD: Swearing an allegiance to always bring the ruckus, Intermood's blend of instrumental psychedelic jazz and high energy neo - disco has emerged from sweaty sold out shows within Australia’s music capital. The group's evolving sound fuses the live dance music of Mildlife and L’Éclair with the housey rhythms of Todd Terje.
DJ PONIE (PBS): You’re invited to kick ons! Whether you’re flying solo or sharing a night out with friends, everyone is welcome to boogie on the dancefloor. Ponie will put a pep in your step with genre defying compilations and have you grooving along to funk, disco, electronic mixes, and restorative, textural jazz/soul energies.
