Eils & The Drip are a brand spanking new Alt/Country outfit from Melbourne, Australia. The 6-piece band was born in the depths of Melbourne’s eternal black out; the lights are on and this outfit is ready to take flight!
Eileen Hodgkins, aka Eils, fronts this group with an energy and passion that kicks some serious butt. With well-seasoned musicians Camilla Hodgkins, James Chandler (fellow members of Perch Creek), Rick Steward, Sophia Lubczenko (Bad Bangs, Sledgehammer) and Fru Parsons, this band is an undeniable musical force combining instrumentation such as lap steel, pedal steel, guitars, keys, bass, drums and plenty of harmonies.
At times The Drip has a musical aesthetic reminiscent of Neil Young’s Harvest or Dylan’s Nashville Skyline, while other times firing towards a more riff-heavy blues rock sound with songs like their debut single “Fuck It Up”.
Pulling together an awesome lineup of local outfits, Thursday Nights through the month of November at The Evelyn Hotel are gearing up to be full of good old country music, Cowperson hats and general good times.
