SUNDAY 17 DECEMBER
Ft. Special Guests
After wowing at BIGSOUND earlier this month – including topping multiple best-of lists, being added to triple j rotation, featuring on multiple Spotify and Apple playlists, and charting on #bigsoundbuzz, Melbourne’s self-described sombre-folk dandy Didirri is here to give you the brand new video for “Jude” and announce headline shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney to round out what has already been a massive year.
The video, which premiered on triple j unearthed over night, taps into the emotive nature of the lyrics.
Written about a dog named Jude, a relative with Autism, and Paul McCartney telling him to ‘take a sad song and make it better-er-er-er’, “Jude” came from the feeling of not being able to face the morning.
“Jude came out of me on the eve of a friend contemplating their own life. It is a reflection of finding myself in a similar mind to this at times. Feeling that there is no way out. And knowing that these thoughts are chemical and will pass and hearing those words “take a sad song and make it better” and hoping that you’ll be there after all of your thoughts have passed.” – Didirri
Intimately shot, the clip zeroes in on the man himself as he weaves through the lyrics, and draws you in to the deep emotion of his song writing.
